Call for Papers: KuraWatch 2 — Special Issue No. 3

The Journal of Green Economy and Optimization Research (JGEOR) invites researchers, practitioners and emerging scholars to submit manuscripts for KuraWatch 2 — Volume 1, Special Issue No. 3, scheduled for publication on 20 October 2026.

The special issue continues JGEOR’s thematic focus on the Kura River and its wider transboundary basin across Türkiye, Georgia and Azerbaijan. As one of the region’s major shared freshwater systems, the Kura supports communities, agriculture, ecosystems and economic activity across national boundaries. At the same time, the river faces increasing pressures related to pollution, changing water availability, ecosystem degradation and competing demands for water resources.

KuraWatch 2 welcomes interdisciplinary research examining water quality, sources and impacts of pollution, biodiversity and ecosystem risks, climate pressures, water security, agricultural water use, environmental monitoring, sustainable river management, resource efficiency, green economy and related policy and governance issues.

The special issue is intended to connect environmental science with economic and management perspectives, encouraging research that not only identifies pressures on the river system but also examines practical, evidence-based and sustainable responses.

Submissions are open to established researchers, practitioners, early-career researchers and young scholars whose work meets JGEOR’s editorial and peer-review requirements. Both original research articles and review papers are welcome.

All manuscripts undergo editorial screening and peer review in accordance with JGEOR’s publication ethics and research-integrity policies. Accepted articles are published under the journal’s open-access model.
